Stage Preview - Bristol Festival of Puppetry

Friday 28th August until Thursday 6th September 2009 @ Tobacco Factory Theatre and The Brewery, Bristol

In partnership with the Tobacco Factory Theatre & Aardman Animations, Puppet Place presents Bristol’s first ever festival dedicated to puppetry in all its forms; from socks to latex and street theatre to celluloid.

The festival offers up a wonderfully eclectic mix of puppetry for all ages, including the UK premiere of TinkerTing’s Hunger directed and designed by Pickled Image - based on Knut Hamsun’s breakthrough novel, Muzzle by Jonny Dixon – the tale of a wide-eyed boy in a big, bad place and the beautiful, colourful world of Stephen Mottram’s The Seed Carriers.

For those who haven’t been to a puppet show since childhood, we have The Triple Decker an evening to whet your puppetry appetite and give you a little taste of everything. For family audiences, we have the ever delightful Stuff & Nonsense Theatre Company’s show Across The Deep Blue Sea, Squashbox Theatre offering up two very different tales of mischief and fun from Cornwall (Skillywidden and The Sea Show) and Storybox Theatre with their enchanting show 3 Pigs.
