Chris, the main-man behind Highrise, gave SY the lowdown on why he decided to start the brand:

“After speaking to friends one night, I realised that although none of us cared at all about fashion, we all really loved a good t-shirt. Whether it’s funny, interesting or just downright quirky, a t-shirt is an everyday way of representing the things that you love and believe in. It has the ability to convey a very powerful message and says a lot about the sort of person you are. After selling some t-shirts successfully in the record shop that I work in, I decided to take it one step further and launch my own website. With the help of my friends and a selection of local artists, I managed to get a nice range of t-shirts together and the website was finally launched this summer. The range has already begun to expand and we are now beginning to stock other music related t-shirts as well as our own stuff. Music is definitely at the heart of the brand.”
