Gig Preview - Scout Niblett

Scout Niblett is England’s answer to Cat Power, but thankfully minus the tantrums. Although lacking Marshall’s infamous temper, Niblett shares with her the ability to convey goosebump-inducing anguish. On latest album, The Calcination of Scout Niblett, uber-producer Steve Albini managed to capture the cathartic energy of her minimalist grunge. The sparseness of Niblett’s sound and the rawness of her vocals mean that any live show is sure to be an intimate and emotional encounter. At the Fleece this Friday be prepared to shed a tear.
