Gig Preview - A Proper Prom Party
Friday 12th Feb 2010 @ The Prom, Bristol
Always a promoter of Bristol’s musical talent, The Prom Bar on Gloucester Road has decided its time for a re-vamp. Having opened about 30 years ago, the bar has seen an array of musical talent pass through its doors, but over time, the paint has started to peel, the acts have become a little predictable and the pursuit of the musical dream had begun to lose a little of its original drive. So, after a period of lack-lustre limping on, The Prom has decided to shut its doors, tart itself up a bit, and reopen to begin from the beginning…with an aim to promote and showcase Bristol’s best unsigned artists.

The Pub will be closing on Monday 8th Feb and re-opening in style on Friday 12th Feb from 8pm till late with A Proper Prom Party. The GBH Big Band, a seventeen piece swing band will be headlining, there’s a free shot on the door, a raffle, fruit punch, glitter face-paint and all customers are encouraged to head down in fancy dress (Guys and Dolls!) for a night of raucous dancing. The staff have been put in charge of redecorating the joint, and have organised the party themselves to celebrate its rebirth. Get yourselves down there!
