From Club To Church

The Bristol nightclub CLUB UK in Stokes Croft has recently been turned into a church after over 3 years of dereliction. A teenager was fatally shot outside the venue in 2006 and the incident let to CLUB UK’s closure.

Now the Nigerian-based Pentecostal Holiness Ministry has opened the building as the Redeemed Christian Church of God led by Pastor Kasali Fatai. The building still retains some of its nightclub features with a cloakroom, ticket booth and strip lighting, but the main hall has been decorated with green drapes, flowers and balloons, with prayers and hymns projected onto the walls.

The first service at the newly opened church was held in July.
