Festival Preview – Bristol Acoustic Music Festival 2009

Friday 16th until Sunday 18th January 2009 @ Folk House and St Georges, Bristol

The Bristol Acoustic Music Festival is back for a 5th year with another fantastic line-up of Bristolian folk/acousto talent, keeping up its tradition for the best place to see all of Bristol’s very best performers together. This year sees the festival span 3 days and, new for 2009, Sunday’s frivolities will take place at St Georges, just over the road on Park Street from the festival’s main home – The Folk House.

Friday’s evening show is an appetiser for things to come with a handful of performances including Jukes and the fabulous Get The Blessing. Saturday and we’re in full swing with 10 great organic cider fuelled shows at the Folk House – pick of the bunch being Phantom Limb in the evening.

Sunday is another full day and though it will be hosted in the unfamiliar surroundings of St Georges, expect the mood to carry across Park Street making for a fantastic atmosphere all day. Things are certainly helped when the Sunday line-up includes juicy performances from Phil King, The Wraiths, Jane Taylor and Bristol’s best band – Babel!

If last year’s festival was anything to go by with its relaxed, fun atmosphere and appetite for memorable shows and impromptu collaborations and duets, this weekend of gigs is an absolute must! Woop! See you there!
