Evening all! What with the longer nights and shorter days, surely it’s about time for Suit Yourself Magazine’s next issue to make the winter fly by and to help welcome in the new decade? This is our second quarterly edition and so expect more articles, more in-depth features, more cartoons, more illustrations and more full page photos, all in the creation of an altogether far less disposable magazine and one which you can dip and in and out of during the three month period.
Suit Yourself Magazine is an independent publication, a voice for all those young at heart, those interested in music, fashion, adventure, the arts, their environment and everything in between. A magazine which investigates, uncovers and promotes everything that makes Bristol such a fun, vibrant and altogether amazing place to live!

Remember Remember to party in November! Bonfire and fireworks aside, it’s getting so cold now that surely the best way to keep warm is to get yourself crushed in a tight, bouncing crowd at the front of Academy or Thekla during a gig, or perhaps dancing you nut off to some tunes at Basement 45 or Start The Bus? Although, was else could be cosier than snuggling up for a film at Watershed or Cube? Whatever you do to keep warm this November, enjoy!

October every year can only mean one thing, the students are back! Now as much as people moan about this rowdy bunch and adolescents, the fact is, Bristol has 2 universities, over 20,000 new students every year and they turn our city into one hell of a party town!
The summer months have been a good opportunity to relax and enjoy the break but now the learned youngsters are back, going out and rocking in Bristol is back on top of the agenda! P-A-R-T-Y! If you cast your minds back you’ll remember that September 2008 was the sunniest, hottest month of the whole year! Let’s hope history repeats itself because September 2009 has got a wealth of outdoor fun and frolics that are calling out to be enjoyed in the sunshine: Pop over to Ashton Court for the International Kite Festival, run through the backstreets of the Harbourside for Igfest – The Interesting Games Festival – or lounge around the Amphitheatre with sunglasses and cider for the return of Bristol Festival. Whatever you do in Bristol this September, bring on the sun!

So summer 2009 isn’t shaping up to be the sun filled scorcher we were all promised by the bastards at the Met Office, and the one which we have been dreaming about for the last 10 months.
Not to worry, no-one likes being that hot, sweaty and uncomfortable anyway (unless its sexy time that is!). There is still just enough sunshine to have a good time and it simply means there’s no excuse to go to all the amazing gigs, films, art shows and club nights happening in Bristol this August. It’s been a long time coming but Suit Yourself Magazine is back for Bristol, bigger and brighter than ever!!! 2009 sees SY go under a significant transformation and we are very proud to present the first quarterly issue of Suit Yourself Magazine. This new, fatter format means more articles, more in-depth features, more cartoons, more illustrations and more full page photos, we have worked tirelessly to create an altogether less disposable magazine and one which you can dip and in and out of during the three month period.

Wooooosh! April has swung into view just in time for us all to remember what the sun feels like…that’s right, bloody amazing! The sun might have his hat on but it’s still pretty chilly – just try and hold out for a few more weeks and try not to fall into the trap of wearing shorts and flip-flops to the shops yet or you’ll regret it as soon as there’s a light breeze. Plus, no-one likes the pasty legs of an over-eager optimist.
