St. Georges Park Festival

Sunday 9th September 2007 @ St. Georges Park

The St.Georges Body English fun jam hippy festival “vibe in the park” event is on Sunday 9th September from 12 - 8pm and is in its fifth year. The aim of the event is to showcase all the local underground talent Bristol has to offer as well as to inspire the masses young and old with new positive pass-times they to can get involved in.

St.Georges Park with its amazing array of trees, beautiful scenery and quality skatepark is a perfect venue. The entry to this event is free as it always has been so everyone young and old can enjoy a free day out BUT we will be collecting donations on the day and they are very, very welcomed.Expect lots of entertainment to impress from the open access bmx and skateboard competitions (please note everyone must wear helmets and protective gear).

Also we have a capoeira display from Bristol’s Filhos de Angola group, samba dancers and procession courtesy of Bristol Samba, cinema tent, a healing area with teepees and superfoods, belly dancers, live music, dj’s, stalls, art installations, workshops, face painting, prize giveaways and much more.Anyone wanting to get involved or see footage from last year’s festival should go to www.bodyenglish.co.uk or www.myspace.com/stgeorgeskatepark so put the date in your diary and come down and have some fun. Just don’t forget the dress code is fancy dress so get ya glad rags on or ya Sunday best and I’ll see you for a nice vibe in St.Georges Park on September 9th.Bristol City Council and The Avon and Somerset Police have supported this year’s event
